The journey
Quite a pleasant ride. The traffic was heavier at first then thinned after the first turning to Pratchinburi and was very quiet to Khao Yai. Road was gently undulating and there was some shade. We passed several roadside craft stalls. Light to moderate south-westerly. There were several accommodation options along the route - motels, hotels and resorts. Roadside cafes were plentiful.Pratchinburi is about 20km from the park entrance. There's a good bike shop on the main road where we were able to buy a computer sensor kit. Big C in the centre of town and bustling night market at the route 33 junction.
The only resorts south of the park are Grand View (B1600 per night, although when we asked if they had anything cheaper they offered us a room for B1300) and Moon River (B1200 or B1500 including breakfast).
