The journey

Up and down (but mostly down) for 10km after the visitors' centre, then quite steeply downhill for 5km. Flat or gently undulating from the park entrance. There's a slew of resorts, guesthouses and cafés for several kms from the north entrance, then cafés and plant nurseries all the way along the road to the intersection with NH2. After the intersection, it was about 5km into town. The station is left off the main road, at the end of the road that the Phubade hotel on (signed from the main road).

There's a bike shop on the main street which is well stocked but didn't sell Western bike parts. There were several restaurants with English menus on the station street and an Italian restaurant round the corner from the station.

Train from Pak Chong to Bangkok
There are two trains which allow bikes: departing 2.00pm, arriving 6.40pm and departing 4.35pm, arriving 9.00pm. Our train arrived 1hr late but made up 40 minutes of the lost time. We could only buy the ticket 30 minutes before departure. 2nd class was full; 3rd class was very busy and we had to sit on the floor at first but it started to empty after a couple of stops. Our third class tickets were B146 per person, B80 per bike (B30 carriage, B50 weight).
