Makes 20
3oz butter
6oz dark brown sugar
½tsp vanilla
1 egg, beaten
6oz self-raising flour
Pinch of salt
3oz chocolate buttons
Cream the butter, sugar and vanilla until thick and fluffy. Beat in the egg gradually. Fold in the flour and salt with the chocolate buttons. Place spoonfuls of the mixture well spaced on greased baking sheets. Place in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 15 minutes.
