Makes 16
2oz plain chocolate
4oz butter
2 eggs, beaten
8oz dark brown sugar
1tsp vanilla
3oz self-raising flour
3oz pecan nuts, broken
Grease and line the base of a 7in square tin with baking paper. Melt the chocolate and butter until smooth. Whisk the eggs and sugar together until thick and pale. Fold in the chocolate mixture and vanilla. Sift in the flour and add the nuts. Fold together gently and pour into the tin. Place in the middle of the oven at 350°F for about 40 minutes. Leave to cool in the tin. Turn out and cut into squares or fingers.
